Water softeners are typically used for removing calcium carbonate, manganese, iron and hardness from water sources and are regenerated by brine solutions. The treated water is soft and non scaling/staining.
Note:
Salt based softeners will require regeneration which generally uses between 100 and 150 litres of water (similar to backwashing a pool). This is conducted every 6500 - 7800 litres in Greater Perth.
Water Softener Cartridges (10"x 4.5" woith 2.8Kg of Resin) will ONLY last between 800 and 2500 litres and will require regeneration - Please do your research before buying a water softener or buying a 3 Stage System from a door salesman. We would like to save you the mistake many have made and come to us to rectify.
